This is a refinished walnut table most likely from the late 70's to mid 80's. The original finish was much darker, and I wanted the grains to be more pronounced to accent the geodes. The original brass inlays and corner guards have been re-inserted and add a depth to the piece. The geodes formed approximately 6-8 million years ago when rhyolitic rocks formed bubbles. These bubbles eventually filled with mineral rich waters that slowly formed crystals within the geodes.
